How to Use HospitalConnectSearch.com

You may enter HosptialConnectSearch.com one of two ways:

Performing a Search»

Whether on the Portal homepage or an AHA Affiliated Site, your first step is to enter a keyword into the search box.

  • The Portal results page will immediately display combined results from all participating websites.
  • An AHA Affiliated Site’s results page will immediately display results specifically from that Site.

  • On the Portal results page, an ALL CONTENT tab is highlighted on your first search. You may next choose to view more specialized results by clicking on any other category tab. (For example, Nursing Management.)
  • On an Affiliated Site’s results page, the THIS SITE tab is immediately highlighted. You may now click on any other tab to see specialized results from all other participating AHA sites.

Tips»

Choosing Search Terms: For best results, make search terms as specific as possible. General terms will give you more results, but by using more words and with more specificity, you will get a smaller set of search results that will be even more relevant. For example: Use personnel management instead of management.

Specific Searches: If you are searching for documents that contain two specific words, you will not need to type "AND" into the search box. For example, for documents containing both the words employees and volunteers, type: employees volunteers.

If you want to find all documents with either one keyword or another, use the term OR using all CAPS. For example: If you’re looking for either employees or volunteers, type: employees OR volunteers.

You may find documents that contain a precise phrase by placing quotation marks around your keyword phrase. For example, if you’re looking for nursing management content, type: “nursing management ”.

Word Variations (Stemming): The search engine will match words that contain your search term as its root. For example: a search for immunize would return results that contain immunize, immunizing, immunizes, and immunization

Capitalization: Searches are NOT case sensitive. For example: HIPAA and Hipaa and hipaa will return the same results.
